Housing Authority of Portland Housing farm worker families, Rockwood Landing’s 36 apartments are designed to encourage a sense of community. A pedestrian scale streetscape serves as the organizing element on a challenging long, narrow site. A focal point for family activities is a centrally located community building. To create a neighborhood scale, bedrooms occupy ‘attic spaces’ to give 3-story buildings a 2-story appearance.
