Specialized Housing, Inc. A three-story, 60,000 sq ft, building with 65 living units and a 6,800 sq ft medical PACE facility (PACE = Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).
The development is focused on health and wellness that integrates environmental sustainability standards with cultural values resulting in a superior living environment. Sustainable practice is expressed through design and engineering methods, materials selection, care of construction and a number of sustainable features including a large rooftop solar array. The owner intends to include a collection of Northwest Indian art masks and other Native American artwork in the building’s common areas representing the Cowlitz and Chinook Tribes that occupied the land where the project is located. Senior residents will be provided with ample socialization areas, visual and physical connections to outdoor activity areas. The PACE facility is designed to contain exam, treatment and counseling areas, staff support spaces and a dining room with supporting commercial kitchen. |
