Butterflies Forever

INITIAL SITE:

Butterflies Forever Conservatory was originally proposed for the Astoria waterfront near the proposed conference center site and adjacent to the river-walk and trolley line. The program allowed for visitors to interact with butterflies in their natural habitat. The project is also to be used as a research and education facility.

SECONDARY SITE:

The glass walls of the 4,000 sf conservatory encompass the surrounding scenery and captures natural light superbly. The lower level houses a laboratory, theater, classroom, office areas, public restrooms and a gift shop with cashier's station. The second floor includes private offices and a kitchen corner for administration.
