This new school and community center provide a gathering and learning place for the Muslim community and beyond. The new building is tucked in a residential area along a busy arterial street. It is designed around a central courtyard, preserving a large oak tree.
The community center, located in the north portion o the building, includes a lap pool, multi-purpose rooms, gym, fitness room, gallery, commercial kitchen, and gift shop.
The school is a K-12 school with the primary school on the ground floor and the secondary school, library, and arts classroom on the upper floor. The school shares the gym and commercial kitchen with the community center.
The exterior materials are a mix of brick and stone, blending regional materials that also reflect textures common in middle eastern architecture. Large windows provide generous daylight to all spaces, including clerestory windows in the multi-purpose room.
